bio flash
gregory, who has trained and practiced music and architecture for several decades, now expresses himself as a painter. Using black and colored Indian ink, his style combines a minimalism, abstract and geometric language where the improvisation of shapes and colors constitute a harmonious equation. His works, reflecting the typology of surfaces, evoke an intense reflection on the limit between inside and outside, intimacy and extimacy.
. . . matter is not the foundation of form, but the unity of foundation and grounded . . .

Press & communication at Perrotin - Paris:
I find that your universe is very singular and there is a real coherence in your work. The minimal aspect of your paintings brings a lot of strength and we immediately understand where you want to take us. The shapes are assertive, the colors respond very well to each other, the depths are mastered and the painted lines bring a lot of energy to your works. We feel a real movement, a total immersion in these shapes and colors.
From an artistic point of view, I find that you have a real identity and we can really feel your inspirations and your training in architecture. Less is more in short.
The geometry of your canvases is very aesthetic and we maintain a certain lightness thanks to the levitation of the shapes.
I find that your strength is the harmony of colors, their transparency and their nuance. There is a real accomplished work and it is very professional

Depth of colors, of texture, return to the essence and to the essential…Grégoire creates pictorial spaces where it is good to get lost, to find oneself, to connect to the breath of life…

I am put into experiences - sensations that are actually difficult to describe, quite varied and beyond the relationships of forms, contrasts, volumes, depths, etc. It is a call, a "troubling" disturbance or a refusal - resistance that are manifested. Something that freezes my gaze or pushes it away, turns it away? Thus touched I do not analyze, I feel without knowing it of my own free will

A bit of Mondrian, a bit of Rothko? No, just Grégoire, I like reds with a touch of orange. Well done Grégoire
